Better buses - Penistone & Stocksbridge
The economic growth needed in Penistone and Stocksbridge relies to some degree on having a good transport network - so this is a subject that I'll be returning to until we see the investment we need.
Levelling up
The Government has committed itself to a 'levelling up' strategy - reducing economic difference between regions - for example increasing investment in an area that arguably needs more than another area. This difference can be seen in the historic investment in transport services that we have access to here in Penistone and Stocksbridge and is one of the reasons I'll be fighting to make sure we get the funding we need to get a better bus service.
Having reliable, regular bus networks is a critical part of any transport network and there's no question we need to do more, so that's why I used my opportunity to ask the Prime Minister for our share of the £5bn set aside to support the national bus strategy.
