Today I met Sheffield District Commander Chief Superintendent Stuart Barton. We had a positive discussion about how we can work together on police and crime issues. I took a moment to raise local concerns about rural crime and vandalism across our constituency and will continue to press for an increased police presence in our area.
Stuart told me that South Yorkshire Police are recruiting new officers as a result of the Government’s pledge to boost police numbers by 20,000 across the country. I was particularly delighted to hear that the future of Deepcar police station has been secured.
I thanked Stuart for the hard work and dedication of this whole team and look forward to working closely with him and all South Yorkshire Police over the coming months.
