Withdrawal Agreement Bill - briefing
This morning I received a briefing from Brexit Minister James Duddridge MP about the Withdrawal Agreement Bill, prior to debating it in the House of Commons. James reassured me that our existing high standards of workers’ rights and environmental protections will be enshrined in law in forthcoming bills.
The Bill provides an 11 month transition period and I have therefore asked James for a further meeting early in 2020 to discuss any potential impact on our constituency - particularly businesses related to our steel industry.
